The Teacher Work Attachment Plus (TWA+) Programme enables educators to gain valuable industry exposure beyond the classroom, helping them become future-ready professionals who can better guide students in our rapidly changing world. Through meaningful work attachments and learning journeys across Singapore's public, private and people sectors, teachers develop broader perspectives that make classroom learning more authentic and relevant.

A four-week attachment with PESTA offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside PESTA officers at the forefront of PE and Sports education excellence. You will gain fresh perspectives that make your classroom teaching more relevant and authentic through engaging with Master Teachers, shadowing innovative programme development processes, observing best practices in action, and actively contributing to the future of physical education across Singapore schools.

Learning Objectives

1. Understand PESTA's role in professional development - Learn how PESTA designs, develops and organises professional learning opportunities specifically for PE and Sports teachers across Singapore schools.

2. Deepen pedagogical content knowledge - Enhance understanding of effective PE and Sports teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, and curriculum implementation approaches.

3. Strengthen subject matter expertise - Develop deeper knowledge in PE and Sports content areas, including emerging trends, research-based practices, and innovative teaching approaches.

4. Comprehend curriculum alignment - Understand the connections between PE syllabus design, implementation strategies, and how PESTA's professional learning programmes support desired learning outcomes for students.

5. Develop leadership competencies - Learn about teacher leadership roles, mentoring approaches, and how to support professional learning communities within schools.

Learning Experiences

1. Engage in professional discourse - Hold meaningful conversations and discussions with PESTA leaders, Master Teachers, and officers to gain insights into educational leadership and policy implementation.

2. Attend structured learning sessions - Participate in PESTA meetings, workshops, and professional learning sessions.

3. Observe planning and development processes - Shadow the cycle of professional learning programme development, such as workshop planning discussion, content design, delivery methods, and post-programme review processes.

4. Conduct classroom observations - Observe PE lessons during school engagement sessions to see curriculum implementation in practice and understand how PESTA's training translates to classroom teaching.

5. Contribute to programme evaluation - Participate in reviewing and providing feedback on existing professional learning programmes to understand continuous improvement processes.
