Aw Kai Yueh (Senior Academy Officer)

Aw Kai Yueh started teaching at Bendemeer Secondary School in 2002. With a keen interest to learn more deeply about teaching and providing better support for her learners, she pursued her Master of Education (Curriculum and Teaching) at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore in 2012. She joined Serangoon Garden Secondary School after returning from her studies.

Kai Yueh has served as a Subject Head (PE/CCA) for four years before she was appointed as a Senior Teacher (PE) in 2014 and as a Lead Teacher (PE) in 2020.

Having 20 years of experience teaching students from wide ranging backgrounds, she believes in constant reflecting, researching and sharing to build the collective wisdom required for overcoming challenges and improving classroom practices.

As a Lead Teacher (LT), she regularly opens her classroom for the fraternity, mentors fellow colleagues, conducts workshops, facilitates network sessions and collaborates with teacher leaders to investigate on how to teach more effectively. Her research interest is widespread and has shared at conferences and symposiums on topics such as Games Concept Approach (GCA), What makes PE lessons enjoyable or not enjoyable, and Blended Learning in PE.
